The best things in life are made by hand. Bread. Sweaters. Dinner parties. And sometimes it’s ceramic candle holders, salt bowls, stubby espresso cups with too many fingerprints, and a quirky handle. The kind of thing your friends pick up and ask, “Wait… did you make this?” And then, for a second, you feel quietly smug. Rightfully so.
That’s where this workshop comes in.
This isn’t wheel-throwing. It’s slower. More forgiving. You’ll get 1.5 kilos of clay to shape however you like, maybe a single statement piece, maybe six tiny ones. Maybe a wobbly vase that grows a personality the longer you look at it.
You’ll also get to paint your work with colored slip (a silky clay-based paint), choose your glaze (shiny or matte), and then leave the firing magic to me.
A note on patience: It takes 2–3 weeks to fully dry your work before I can fire it. Then it gets glazed and fired again at over 1020°C. A few weeks later, you’ll get a message to pick it up in Oost. Or, I can bring it to Amsterdam-West, or ship it; but ceramics are fragile, and honestly, your art deserves the best care.
So when does it happen?
